The minimum duration of this course is approximately 11 – 13 weeks full time with a maximum of 12 months to complete. The course will be block training for 7 weeks with a remainder of vocational placement of 4 – 6 weeks. Duration may be dependent upon participant numbers, delivery styles and employer facilitation.
The whole course is delivered full time, face to face at LT Training’s facility and visiting construction enterprises to cover all selection criteria. Three days per week. (Minimum of 8 students required for full time). Contact us for start dates and details for the full time course.
This qualification provides an introduction to the construction industry, its culture, occupations, job roles and workplace expectations. The units of competency cover essential work health and safety requirements, the industrial and work organisation structure, communication skills, work planning, and basic use of tools and materials. The qualification is built around a basic construction project unit that integrates the skills and the facets of employability skills in context.
It is also perfect for people who want to get the qualification, knowledge and skills to break out and start a repair / handyman business.
The qualification is suited to VET in Schools programs or learners with no previous connection to the construction industry or relevant employment history.
The skills achieved will assist in successfully undertaking a Certificate II pre-vocational program or job outcome qualification, or will facilitate entry into an Australian Apprenticeship. Part of the units can be transferred into qualifications that will contribute to certain construction licences in Queensland. In NSW you could apply for a non-structural repair work license.
There are no entry requirements for the certificate. However students should have a reasonable fitness and physical ability level and have an interest in construction.

On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued a ‘Certificate I in Construction CPC10111’ certifying competence of the 11 units completed. LT Training will also issue a Construction White Card to students when they have completed the unit for White Card.
The course is developed to be delivered face to face with vocational placement.
For students that are already employed in the industry:
Visits by your trainer and assessor will be organised with enrolment.
Full time face to face training is conducted at the LT Training Nambour facility. Nambour PCYC, Youth Avenue, Nambour QLD 4560. Please contact office to confirm start dates.
Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of corporate clients or other more convenient sites.
