The course is scheduled weekly. A standard course includes 1 day of training and assessment. The training consists of face to face in a class room training with practical activities on our simulated construction site.
Work safely at heights training includes the theoretical and practical components of the unit RIIWHS204D Work safely at heights. You will learn how to undertake work at heights safely and competently, covering selection, inspection and safe use of equipment; risk management; and requirements of relevant Australian Standards, company procedures and legislation. The course covers practical activities and other safe work practices.
This unit it appropriate for those working in operational roles where they are required to perform work at heights. This unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to work safety at heights in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.
There are no entry requirements for these courses.
RIIWHS204D Work safely at heights
On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued a ‘Statement of Attainment’ certifying competence of the unit. Participants will also be issued a wallet card on successful completion of the course
Work safely at heights face to face training is conducted at the LT Training Nambour facility. PCYC Youth Avenue, Nambour QLD 4560. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients if the correct requirements are met.
All training aids and safety equipment are provided for use as required. Maximum student numbers exists depending on the facility.
As a minimum participants will be exposed to the following:
- Access to various workplace situations at height
- More than one type of harness
- More than one type of fall arrest system
