A standard course includes 2 days of training and assessment. The training consists of face to face in a class room training with practical machine activities outside.
The amount of learning will be influenced by the capability, experience and prior knowledge and skills including the LLN level of each participant.
This unit includes the theoretical and practical components of Skid Steer (Bobcat) operations in the civil construction industry.
It includes: planning and preparing; conducting machine pre-operational checks; operation of skid steer loader including stripping/ spreading topsoil and materials, lifting, loading vehicles, excavations, mixing materials ; selecting, removing and fitting attachments; relocating the skid steer loaders; carrying out machine operator maintenance; and cleaning up.
The course is suitable for anyone who wish to operate a skid steer within the Resources, Construction and Infrastructure industries.
There are no entry requirements for these courses.

On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued a ‘Statement of Attainment’ certifying competence of the unit. Participants will also be issued a wallet card on successful completion of the course
Skid Steer (Bobcat) operations in the class room (face to face) training is conducted at the LT Training Nambour facility at PCYC Youth Avenue, Nambour QLD 4560.
The practical machine hours training and assessment will be on a nearby facility or client premises.
Upon arrangement, training and assessment can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients providing there are suitable facilities.
All training aids and safety equipment are provided for use as required. Maximum student numbers exists depending on the facility.
