How does it work?

The program allows you to choose a preferred registered training organisation such as LT Training that delivers nationally recognised, accredited training.  You can enrol with us for a scheduled face to face course or you could enrol self-paced learning with practical activities at your workplace or at a venue organised by LT Training.

To be eligible participants must:

  • be aged 15 years or older;
  • be no longer at school (with the exception of school students in Years 10, 11 and 12 undertaking a VET in School (VETiS) program
  • permanently reside in Queensland;
  • be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident (includes humanitarian entrant), temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency, or a New Zealand citizen (for more information see Visa eligibility under VET investment programs);
  • not hold, or not be enrolled in, a certificate III or higher-level qualification, not including qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training.

Note that employment status is NOT a factor.

How much will it cost?

Given the benefits that accrue to individuals from training, students will be required to contribute to the costs of their training through a co-contribution fee. The fee may be paid on behalf of the student by the employer or a third party unrelated to LT Training, but cannot be paid or waived by LT Training. For example, in Southeast QLD, within a 200 km radius of LT Training head office, the cost will be $16.00 per unit for non-concessional and $8 per unit for concessional students upon enrolment. For more information on co-contribution rates per location, Co-contribution rate location information sheet 2024

The concessional student co-contribution fee applies to:

  • Students (or their partner or guardian) who hold a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
  • School students who enrolled in a VETiS program
  • Students with a disability
  • Students who are adult prisoners

Without certificate 3 guarantee the course is worth $5,640.00
