WHITE CARD TRAINING

A standard course includes 6 hours of training and assessment. The training consists of face to face in a classroom training with some practical activities outside. The course can be selected with other units when attending courses with LT Training.
Work Place Health and Safety Queensland changes will take effect from 1 February 2019 include:
• All training must be delivered face to face. An exemption allowing online or distance delivery will only be available where the student is located at least 100 kilometres away from the nearest RTO offering face to face delivery.
• Registered training organisations (RTOs) approved by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) to issue white cards will only be approved to issue to students trained in Queensland. To meet this requirement students must have been physically located in Queensland during training.
White Card training includes the theoretical and practical components of the unit CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry. This unit of competency specifies the mandatory work health and safety training required prior to undertaking construction work. If you plan to work in the construction industry in Australia, you need a Construction Induction card or what is commonly known as “White Card”. White Card is a mandatory requirement for anyone who wants to work in the construction industry.
The unit requires the person to demonstrate personal awareness and knowledge of health and safety legislative requirements in order to work safely and prevent injury or harm to self and others. It covers identifying and orally reporting common construction hazards, understanding basic risk control measures, and identifying procedures for responding to potential incidents and emergencies. It also covers correctly selecting and fitting common personal protective equipment (PPE) used for construction work.
There are no entry requirements for these courses.
CPCCWHS1001 – Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
On successful completion of this course, participants will be issued a ‘Statement of Attainment’ certifying competence of the unit. Participants will also be issued a Work Health and Safety Queensland “white card” on successful completion of the course. The white card can be issued on the same day of completion.
White Card face to face training is conducted at the LT Training Nambour facility. PCYC Youth Avenue, Nambour QLD 4560. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients and schools.
There is no recognition of prior learning for this unit

All training aids and safety equipment are provided for use as required. Maximum student numbers exist depending on the facility.
Applicants need to be 15+ to apply for this training. White Card training relates directly to the induction program as specified by Chapter 6 Construction work, Part 6.5 General construction induction training, Work Health and Safety Regulation 2011.
