Overview of Working at Heights ticket:

Work safely at heights training course includes the theoretical and practical components of the unit RIIWHS204E Work safely at heights. This course will teach you how to comply with the current Occupational Health and Safety legislation, with successful participants receiving a nationally recognised statement of attainment. You will learn skills including but not limited to:

• Undertake work at heights safely
• Risk of a falls and competently
• Covering selection
• Inspection and safe use of height safety equipment and fall prevention
• Risk management
• Selecting the correct equipment
• Requirements of relevant Australian Standards
• Company procedures and legislation.
• The course covers practical activities, fall protection and other safe work practices.

Target Audience:

This working at heights ticket applies to those working in supervising or operational roles at any level of heights. This course is tailored to preparing workers to be able to conduct work in any working at heights situation. The main areas that this is needed is in the industries of mining, construction, painting, electrition, scaffolding, maintenance, large warehouses or factories, and any other work that requires to be completed at heights. They generally work under supervision to undertake a prescribed range of functions involving known routines and procedures and take responsibility for the quality of work outcomes.

Outcomes of Working at Heights ticket:

On successful completion of this working at heights ticket, participants will be issued a nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework  ‘Statement of Attainment’ certifying the competence of the unit. This Statement is issued by LT Training (RTO 45726). If participants would also like a physical wallet card displaying the name, unit and date of completion, they need to let LT Training know at least one business day before the course. Otherwise, a card can be mailed for a postage fee. This course is acceptable as a refresher course as well.

Course Delivery:

Work safely at heights face-to-face training is conducted at the registered training organisation LT Training Nambour facility. Upon arrangement, training and courses can be conducted on-site at the premises of industry clients if the correct requirements are met.

Entry Requirements:

According to packaging guidelines, this unit has no entry requirements and may be completed as a stand-alone unit or as part of a skills set or qualification. Please note that this course is high-risk and includes basic physical and mental performance, reading, writing and listening.

Students with injuries or other medical conditions could find it difficult to perform practical tasks which include working at heights. All students must be able to put on/wear a harness, be capable of climbing ladders and perform tasks on an elevated platform.

In addition, you will also need a valid photo ID and a USI – Unique Student Identifier (we can help you with this).

FAQ about Working at Heights Training:

Q. Can you do working at heights training online?

A. No, you cannot do an accredited working at heights course online. You can however do a non-accredited refresher course online. Note, please check with your worksite or employer first if an online working at heights course is acceptable.

Q. How often should working at heights ticket or training be refreshed or renewed?

A. Every 2 years for working at heights ticket or training. In QLD most job sites won’t let you do working at heights if your ticket is older than 2 years, as part of their duty of care.

Further Information:

All training aids and safety equipment are provided for use as required. Maximum student numbers exist depending on the facility.

As a minimum, participants will be exposed to the following:

• Access to various workplace situations at height
• More than one type of harness
• More than one type of fall arrest system
